Steven Dollansky began his career with McLennan Ross as an articling student. He maintains a diverse practice including Labour & Employment, Political & Elections Law, Indigenous Law, Administrative Law, and Constitutional Law.

Steven has been described as a highly capable leader. He has built a reputation for offering sound and strategic advice to clients, ensuring they fully understand each step of the litigation process and the broader legal implications of their decisions.

In his labour and employment practice, Steven has made his mark counseling a number of large organizations with respect to human rights, privacy, dismissals, performance management, policy development, occupational health and safety, and labour relations issues.

Steven is recognized for his expertise in the area of political and elections law. His practice includes advising political participants concerning how to navigate elections legislation, electoral financing rules, and all other aspects of the political process. His clients include candidates in elections at various levels of government, first nations, and third parties.

In his indigenous law practice, Steven advises first nations with respect to how to structure their operations in an accountable and efficient fashion that takes into account the unique customs and realities faced by each nation.

Steven’s administrative law practice includes representing clients before various administrative tribunals and, when necessary, reviewing tribunal decisions before the courts. In particular, Steven has extensive expertise with respect to tax assessment appeals. He has represented institutional and individual property owners before assessment review boards and at the Court of King's Bench and Court of Appeal.

In the constitutional law arena, Steven has represented clients in a range of matters that relate to the division of powers between governments. This includes representing an intervenor in the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act references before the Saskatchewan and Ontario Court of Appeals as well as a number of matters arising from his labour and employment practice.

Blake has been with the firm for nearly ten years, initially as an Articling Student. In that time, he has become an integral member of the Commercial Litigation, Construction, Labour & Employment, and Insurance & Risk Management Practice Groups.

In his commercial litigation practice, he has worked on all natures of debt collections issues involving security claims, priority claims, secured recovery of vehicles or other serial number goods, and reciprocal judgment enforcement.

In his insurance practice, Blake represents a wide range of national and international insurers in relation to all forms of insurance related litigation. His insurance defence experience includes serious bodily injury claims, construction and fire losses, coverage opinions, directors’ and officers’ claims and inter-provincial coverage issues.

Blake’s employment law practice includes wrongful dismissal litigation, Workers’ Compensation matters, human rights complaints, fiduciary litigation, employment standards claims and disputes involving the enforcement of restrictive covenants. He also assists employers with employee discipline and termination, managing employee disability, conducting workplace investigations, and drafting employment contracts and policies.

MaryAnne maintains a Corporate Commercial Services practice focusing primarily on Tax law. She joined the firm shortly after she was called to the Alberta Bar and has since been recognized as a strong communicator with exceptional analytical skills.

MaryAnne typically advises clients on corporate and individual tax planning, tax-effective estate planning, purchase and sale of business, business succession planning and dispute resolution with the Canada Revenue Agency. She has experience working with Corporations, not-for-profits, charities, and trusts.

MaryAnne’s accounting acumen and experience with the Department of Justice Canada make her uniquely qualified to provide specialized advice in both tax planning and tax dispute resolution.
