Holiday Message 2024 from MR Managing Partner
As we close out another remarkable year, I’d like to take this opportunity to extend my sincere thanks to our clients, colleagues in the legal profession, and service providers for your ongoing trust and confidence in McLennan Ross. It’s been an extraordinary year, and we’re truly grateful for the relationships we’ve built and the success we’ve shared. I wish you all the very best this holiday season.
2024 has been a year of considerable growth and achievement at McLennan Ross. We’ve made significant strides in strengthening our team and expanding our presence. This year, we welcomed six new lawyers to our firm, alongside eight articling students who have now joined us as associates. Their talents and dedication further enrich our breadth of experience and enhance our ability to serve you.
In Calgary, we celebrated a noteworthy accomplishment with the strategic takeover of the 20th floor at Eau Claire Tower. This expansion reflects not just our physical growth, but also the strength, ambition, and depth of our team. It’s a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come and where we’re headed.
In Yellowknife, we marked the 25th anniversary of our office, which continues to serve the unique needs of our clients in the North. It’s been an honour to work in this extraordinary region, and we’re proud to continue serving the community with a deep understanding of its needs and challenges. We look forward to many more years of growth and collaboration in Yellowknife.
This year, we have had the great joy of securing countless wins alongside our clients. These successes, large and small, are the true highlights of our work, and we’re deeply grateful for the trust you place in us. There’s no greater reward than achieving the results you deserve.
We’re also proud of the recognition we’ve received this year. McLennan Ross was named a Canadian HR Reporter Readers’ Choice 2024 winner in Labour and Employment. We were also recognized by Canadian Lawyer as a Top Western Firm, a reflection of our commitment to excellence.
On a more somber note, this year, we lost one of our firm’s founders, Rod McLennan, K.C. Rod was widely regarded as one of the most accomplished and respected litigators in Alberta, and his contributions to the legal community were immeasurable. We’re deeply grateful for the outpouring of support we’ve received and the many stories shared by those whose careers and lives he touched. His legacy continues to inspire us all.
On behalf of the partners, lawyers, and staff at McLennan Ross, I extend my warmest wishes for a peaceful and prosperous holiday season. May the new year bring you joy, success, and fulfillment. We look forward to continuing our work together in 2025 and beyond.
Sincerely,
Steve Livingstone
