Happy Holidays From Our Managing Partner
As the year comes to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our clients, colleagues, and service providers for their trust and confidence in us.
In 2021, we unveiled our new logo and a new website, allowing us to better showcase our services and to connect with our clients. It was a year of physical transformation. In 2022, we turned our attention to redefining and strengthening our core values.
From our offices in Edmonton, Calgary, and Yellowknife, our values help us make a national impact through our work with clients across Canada. As a firm, we are defined by our values. They drive us. They inspire us. They inform everything we do.
Our key values:
1. Unrivaled Client Focus
Our client experience is second to none. We strive for excellence in Law and are always looking for creative, practical solutions to get the best results for our clients and the firm.
2. Passionate and driven
We’re all in! We are passionate about the work we do and are driven by results.
3. Genuine and approachable
We are unpretentious and no one calls us stuffy. We welcome diversity and know that we are better together.
4. Make a difference
We care about our clients, our community and each other and we want to make a difference in the lives of those around us.
This past year, we’ve sought to make a difference in our communities in a variety of ways. Our team was proud to host a brunch for OUTlaw Alberta, we rallied together to take part in first annual Legacy Run/Walk in support of Calgary’s Pregnancy and Infant Loss Centre, and we were happy to sponsor and attend NWT Pride once again. We also had the pleasure of sponsoring numerous events such as Calgary Legal Guidance’s 50th Anniversary Gala, 124 Street Business Association’s All is Bright Celebration, the Northern Arts and Culture Centre, the Great Prairies Pitch Marathon hosted by Startup TNT, Taste of Edmonton, the Leaders in Insurance Charity Golf Classic, Run For L’Arche, and the Women and Wealth Gala, to name a few.
In addition to investing in our communities, we have also invested in our team, this year. We were pleased to welcome eight new associates to our team. A further exciting addition was our new COO, Alistair Stead. Each of these talented individuals has already made positive contributions to the firm, allowing us to better serve our clients.
We were also thrilled to expand our services. In January, we officially launched our Wealth Advisory Team, in September we launched our Condominium Law group, and in November we introduced our MR Secure Start Package for start-ups.
Reflecting on the year, I am proud and humbled by the incredible things we made happen for not only our firm, but also for our clients. I have no doubt we are approaching 2023 from a position of strength and with a mindset of how we can be of service to our clients. I’m looking forward to the year ahead with optimism.
I wish you and yours a warm, joyous, and inspired holiday season. Reflecting on the year, I am proud and humbled by the incredible things we made happen for not only our firm, but for our clients.
