Finding Solutions Through COVID-19
As a result of health concerns arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Alberta Courts closed on March 23, 2020 to the public and shortly thereafter to lawyers for all but emergency hearings. This situation will remain in place until further notice. We understand that this abrupt development is disconcerting for anyone involved in a legal dispute but it does not mean that your dispute must remain idle. Alternative forms of dispute resolution are available and even encouraged by all of Alberta’s Courts.
At McLennan Ross, we are equipped to provide these alternative dispute resolution resources to you and can deliver assistance through the Courts’ recognized WebEx video conferencing platform, whether it is for arbitration or mediation.
As a business law firm, Jim Lebo, Q.C. FCIArb and Peter Major, Q.C. have over 65 years of combined commercial litigation experience to assist counsel and their clients with advancing or resolving disputes. They are trained as arbitrators and also capable of mediating all forms of commercial disputes. They can assist with discreet interlocutory issues or, if desired, your entire dispute.
