Bio
Luke Van Bostelen is a student-at-law in our Calgary office.
Luke earned his Juris Doctor at University of Alberta, where he also obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History, graduating with distinction. As an undergraduate, Luke received the Jason Lang Scholarship and published articles in the Political Science Undergraduate Review and the Constellations Journal. Prior to law school, Luke spent several summers working on large construction projects in Alberta and BC.
While in law school, Luke represented the University of Alberta as an oralist in the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. He was also a moot mentor and spent time helping 1st year students prepare for their moot. During his first year, Luke and his moot partner were selected to the Dean’s Cup as one of the top first year moot teams. Furthermore, Luke was the president of the Christian Legal Fellowship group at the University of Alberta and volunteered with Student Legal Services and the Edmonton Community Legal Centre.
After working as a summer student at McLennan Ross, Luke spent his 2L summer working in the legal department at the Workers’ Compensation Board in Edmonton.
Outside of the law, Luke is passionate about sports. During law school, he enjoyed playing on the Litigators Hockey team, and playing squash with the University of Alberta Squash Club and several law school friends. Luke also enjoys coaching high school soccer and exploring the Rocky Mountains with his family and friends.
