As trusted outside business counsel, Kayla provides conscientious legal advocacy. She focuses on human rights, wrongful dismissals, and labour matters. She has experience advising employers with respect to workplace investigations, privacy matters, policy development, hiring and dismissal, benefits and pensions, disability and illness management, human rights, and litigation.
Kayla has assisted clients with a variety of litigation matters, including arbitrations, human rights hearings, summary judgments, and appeals at the Court of King's Bench and the Court of Appeal.
Kayla approaches all matters with the highest degree of quality and attention to detail, while resolving issues in a practical manner. She is well-versed and informed on employment and labour laws and is able to adapt to complex situations, such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
An active community member, Kayla has contributed her time and skills to multiple non-profit organizations. She is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and sits on the CBA South Alberta Labour & Employment Committee.
