Bio
Jessica is an effective, ethical, and reliable advocate. Jessica practices primarily in labour and employment (including related matters of privacy and human rights), representing employers in all aspects of the employment relationship, from contract development and negotiation, to interim complex employment challenges and disputes, through to labour arbitration and litigation.
Jessica advocates for both public and private sector organizations, guiding them through the intricacies of managing individual employment challenges as well as those within unionized relationships. She routinely represents employers in grievance arbitrations, and provides day-to-day guidance on labour relations and human resources matters.
She has appeared before all levels of Court in Alberta, and in labour arbitrations, assisting employers with wrongful dismissals, contract and collective agreement disputes and interpretation and non-competition issues. Jessica also has extensive experience defending employers with respect to complaints under Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation.
Jessica is a clear communicator and prides herself on providing clients with a thorough understanding of the relevant legal landscape, her advice, and the practical processes necessary to successfully navigate through the particular issue.
Taking a straight-forward approach to workplace issues, Jessica provides her clients with practical and carefully considered guidance to address immediate concerns and to identify and develop measures to protect client interests in the future.
Jessica is a member of the Canadian Bar Association: Labour & Employment and Commercial Litigation Sections and the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers.
