James practices in Construction Law, Commercial Litigation, Labour & Employment, and Collections/Foreclosure. He offers comprehensive legal services to a broad range of clients, including many municipalities. James has appeared before all levels of Court in Alberta and various boards and tribunals.
With a background that includes involvement in several small businesses, James has experience in various industries in Alberta and a keen interest in business and entrepreneurship. His business background allows him to provide his clients top-notch legal advice without losing sight of the business implications of that advice.
Prior to law school, James was involved in scientific research and has published several academic papers in major scientific journals.
James has a particular aptitude for putting clients at ease. With a relaxed demeanor, he has the ability to achieve practical solutions and build a good rapport with opposing parties to encourage reasonable resolutions.
James is an involved member of the Edmonton community. He sits on the City of Edmonton Historical Board and is the chair of the City of Edmonton Historic Resources Review Panel. James also lends his time to Edmonton Community Legal Centre and Civil Claims Duty Counsel.
