Bio
Graham McLennan, K.C. is a senior partner at McLennan Ross, who is well-recognized for excellence in commercial litigation, class actions, professional liability claims, and construction litigation.
He is a trusted and knowledgeable advisor to auditors of distressed public companies. He assists with Securities Commission issues, class and solvency proceedings, matters related to the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act, and all other related litigation involving secured creditors and other parties. Graham also handles all aspects of professional liability, such as discipline and civil litigation for auditors and accountants, and he represents accounting firms and owners as well as contractors in large construction disputes.
His decades of experience resolving civil claims across Canada include cases in Edmonton, Calgary, British Columbia, and Ontario. He has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta, the B.C. Supreme Court, the Ontario Court of Justice, and courts in the Northwest Territories, as well as the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada. He has appeared as counsel before the National Energy Board, the Land Compensation Board, and numerous other tribunals. He is also skilled in alternative dispute processes and has resolved many disputes in mediations and arbitrations.
In addition to his extensive litigation experience, Graham’s long-standing interest in business ventures and his time as a director of both private and public corporations has given him a strong foundation of business knowledge. He is the founding shareholder and officer of two leasing companies and a property development company, and has been involved in several other investments over his many years in practice.
He has lectured at the Canadian Institute and Osgoode Law School on the subject of class actions and has been an invited speaker for the intellectual property, municipal, construction law, and insurance sections of the Canadian Bar Association.
