Bio
Dave is a friendly, approachable lawyer who understands the nuances of labour and employment law. While he has an affable disposition, he remains a tenacious and focused negotiator and litigator.
Dave focuses his practice on labour and employment law, occupational health and safety, and civil litigation. He appreciates that proactive, insightful labor and employment advice is crucial in establishing a productive working environment and works with both individual and commercial clients to find appropriate resolutions to complex legal issues.
In his OHS practice, Dave helps clients navigate a continually shifting regulatory landscape. With experience managing discriminatory actions complaints, OHS order compliance, witness interviews and litigation, he provides thorough analyses of the entire life cycle of regulation and enforcement.
Dave has appeared before the Alberta Court of Appeal, the Alberta Court of King's Bench and the Provincial Court of Alberta concerning matters such as OHS and wrongful dismissals. He has also appeared before the Alberta Labour Relations Board.
With each matter he takes on, Dave manages his clients’ legal concerns in the broader context of their business operations. He gets to know the industry, company culture, and objectives of his clients to provide practical, not just legal, advice.
Outside of his legal practice, Dave prioritizes community involvement as a member of the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce Workforce Development Committee.
