Richard Wong

A talented and strategic litigator, Richard’s approach to advocacy combines compassion and creative problem-solving.

Richard maintains a commercial litigation practice with a focus on construction disputes. He represents contractors, owners, and developers in all manner of construction lawsuits including contract disputes, builders’ lien matters, and delay and negligence claims.

Richard is also experienced with non-refugee immigration matters. Specifically, Richard assists individual and corporate clients in obtaining both temporary and permanent status including family class sponsorships, work permits, Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIAs), and other exemptions and waivers.

Assessing matters with a detail-oriented and insightful perspective, Richard understands that achieving the best result for his clients requires being a tenacious advocate both in and out of the courtroom. He has appeared before the Provincial Court and the Court of King's Bench of Alberta, and has also resolved disputes through mediation, arbitration, and negotiations with creative solutions.

Genuine consideration for his clients and a commitment to serving with integrity have earned Richard a reputation for client-focused advocacy. He goes above and beyond to protect his clients’ best interests and help them meet their legal goals.

Richard regularly volunteers his time and legal acumen to Civil Chambers Duty Counsel. He is a Director with the Greater Parkland Regional Chamber, and also frequently presents and publishes articles concerning construction and immigration topics.
