Richard maintains a diverse practice in the areas of civil, commercial and employment litigation. He has experience assisting individuals and corporations on construction matters with respect to contractual disputes and builders’ liens, and has appeared before the Provincial Court and the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta in representing clients on these matters.

Richard also has experience with non-refugee immigration matters. Specifically, Richard has assisted clients in preparing applications for both temporary and permanent status including family class sponsorships, work permits, Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIAs), and other exemptions and waivers.

Richard appreciates the fact-specific nature of each matter, and provides client-centered services towards achieving the desired results. With the goal of client-satisfaction in mind, Richard provides timely, efficient and quality legal representation as an advocate and service provider.

  • Represents and provides opinions to insurance companies for subrogation claims related to property damage coverage.
  • Counsel to a corporation in debt collection and recovery for breaches of contract.
  • Assists senior counsel in hiring and retention of temporary foreign workers.
  • Prepares applications for both temporary and permanent status including family class sponsorships, work permits and Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIAs), Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP), Express Entry, North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and various other exemptions and waivers.
  • Defends wrongful dismissal actions on behalf of employers and prosecutes such actions on behalf of employees.
  • Assists senior counsel advise employers concerning a variety of workplace issues, such as termination, discipline, human rights, employment standards, workers’ compensation and occupational health & safety matters.
