Peter is a Q.C. lawyer whose practice is focused on complex commercial litigation, arbitrations and mediations.
Peter regularly appears, and has been successful, in all levels of Court in Alberta. His experience awards him the opportunity to provide practical and effective advice on how his clients can best pursue a resolution specific to their matters.
He also has experience with corporate governance, intellectual property and trade secrets, oil and gas, defamation, employment, construction, aeronautics, commercial real estate, and estate law.
Prior to becoming a private practitioner, Peter clerked with the Alberta Court of Appeal and Queen’s Bench, and also worked as a Prosecutor with the Alberta Department of Justice. He continued to prosecute as an agent for the Federal Department of Justice for seven years during his primary years in private practice.

Peter is involved in multiple commercial disputes representing a wide variety of corporate and individual clients ranging from complex contractual disputes, oppression claims, fraud, subrogated claims, patent protection, defamation, commercial and resident real estate disputes to all forms of employment matters. Notably, Peter assisted colleagues in Toronto as Canadian counsel for an overseas institutional client in a $700 million multi cross-border banking litigation dispute.
Peter also works in the energy industry as lead counsel on behalf of individuals, junior, mid-size and major corporations in all forms of disputes ranging from royalty claims, Rights of First Refusal, AMI acquisitions, trespass, lease enforcement and collapses, facilities operations, interpretation and applications of CO&O Agreements and CAPL procedures, enforcement and challenges to caveat registration and mining claims.
Peter has a significant amount of experience with respect to arbitrations. He is a member of the Advocates' Society National Teaching Faculty and presented in the Arbitration Advocacy Program in 2016.
