Bio
Clients count on Kevin Ozubko’s talent for closing deals in corporate, commercial, securities, and real estate matters. Effective and efficient, he pushes deals forward with clear communication and attention to detail, including large commercial real estate projects, and the purchase and sale of medium to large-sized businesses.
As a corporate lawyer, he enjoys a wide variety of transactional work and getting deals done from start to finish, including every stage in between. He has acted as counsel in many commercial financings, merger and acquisition transactions, contractual negotiations, and private placements. He handles corporate restructuring and reorganizations, shareholder agreements, joint ventures, commercial real estate, multi-family residential real estate, franchising, debt and equity financings, and the commercial and contractual aspects of large-scale construction projects, including condominium buildings.
Well-known for his practicality and getting to the point quickly, Kevin has a talent for pinpointing underlying business concerns that need to be addressed in legal documents. He counts some of Alberta’s most successful entrepreneurs as valued clients, as well as public companies, local developers, private business owners, landlords, tenants, major banks, private lenders, and governmental bodies.
With a keen interest in real estate from a young age, Kevin finds large real estate projects, as well as the purchase and sales of businesses, particularly interesting due to their time-sensitive nature and need for the accurate handling of unique legal issues, such as foreign ownership and multi-jurisdictional land issues. Even in the most complex deals, he persists with creativity and tenacity to get the job done right.
Throughout his career, Kevin has been available and responsive to his clients and kept them informed with clear communication at every stage of a business deal. Working harder and smarter than the legal team on the other side is always his goal.
Kevin’s strong work ethic, as well as his loyalty, dedication, and respectful treatment of everyone he meets, are traits he attributes to his time playing hockey with the Notre Dame Hounds in Saskatchewan and the Alberta Golden Bears with the University of Alberta.
