Jennifer's practice focuses on litigation, insurance and risk management, construction, privacy, and health law. Motivated by her desire to understand her clients and provide them with comprehensive and proactive solutions, Jennifer enjoys finding cost-effective and creative solutions to address her clients’ legal needs.

Jennifer represents corporations and individuals on variety of commercial litigation disputes, including small claims matters and those involving property damage, negligence, and contractual disputes. She also works with a number of national insurers on a variety of insurance matters including commercial builders liability, property damage, and product and services liability claims. Jennifer has experience working multi-party files, and regularly represents both homeowners and homebuilders in construction related matters.

Jennifer has appeared in both the Provincial Court and the Court of Queen’s Bench. She also has experience with alternative dispute resolution, including mediations and judicial dispute resolutions.

  • Assisted senior counsel in representing a construction company with respect to builders liens matters and ongoing payment issues.
  • Advises and represents clients on registering and pursuing lien rights, including builders’ liens.
  • Assists senior counsel with advising and representing contractors, owners, and developers in all manner of construction lawsuits including contract disputes, builders’ lien matters, and delay and negligence claims.
  • Provided an opinion to a heath care provider on penalties for queue jumping, medically required services, enhanced services and insured services under the Alberta Health Care Insurance Act and the Health Care Protection Act and their associated regulations.
  • Assist senior counsel in providing advice and direction to the Alberta organization representing medical Residents.
  • Represents health care professionals and organizations in health-related privacy issues, primarily in relation to Alberta's Health Information Act.

  • Provided an opinion to a school board regarding the necessity of background and information checks, including the privacy impact on individual applicants.
