Doug’s practice focuses on business and regulatory law, specifically in the utility, infrastructure, construction, transportation and energy industries. His unique practice allows him to serve clients with both commercial and business law advice as well as regulatory advice and representation.

His business law practice experience includes construction projects, mergers and acquisitions, banking and financing matters, transportation transactions and agreements, land development projects, and public-private partnerships in the infrastructure and utility sectors.

Doug’s strong business background includes management experience in the transportation and resource industries. His clients include private and public corporations and businesses, as well as public institutions and agencies, and local and regional governments.

He also regularly represents his clients before regulatory tribunals on matters concerning public utility regulation, telecommunications, electricity generation, natural gas transmission and distribution, project operating and environmental approvals, land and water licensing and permitting.

Doug is the Past President of the Canadian Transport Lawyers Association and Past Chair of the firm’s Corporate Commercial Securities Practice Group.
