Erin Ludwig Joins McLennan Ross


As some of you may know already, Erin Ludwig has recently joined McLennan Ross as a partner in our Labour and Employment Practice Group, working out of our Calgary office.

Erin brings a wealth of experience to the firm, acting on behalf of employers in both unionized and non-unionized environments. Erin began practicing labour and employment law at the Laird Armstrong labour boutique which later merged with Norton Rose Fulbright LLP. She has experience in a number of private and public sector industries, including public sector health care, education and post-secondary education, energy, transportation (trucking and railroad), insurance, and manufacturing. As the in-house labour and employment counsel at Alberta Health Services for the last two years, she advised on a wide variety of labour and health care matters, was involved with provincial collective bargaining, and litigated matters before grievance arbitration boards and the Labour Relations Board. Her experience in health care also includes working as a former registered nurse.

Erin has been counsel on a number of high-profile labour, employment and workplace human rights cases in Alberta and before federal boards and courts. She represents and advises employers concerning a variety of issues, such as termination, discipline, human rights, employment standards, workers’ compensation, labour arbitration, Labour Relations Board matters, and issues involving privacy and access to information. She advises employers in the drafting, implementation, and application of employment agreements and policies (such as drug and alcohol and harassment policies). In addition, she conducts investigations into matters such as bullying and sexual harassment complaints.

As a part of the Labour and Employment team at McLennan Ross, Erin provides advice and acts as litigation counsel to employers on drug and alcohol cases, sexual harassment and bullying complaints, human rights complaints, stress claims, accommodation issues, and discipline and termination cases. She represents employers in collective bargaining and provides organizational advice regarding the full spectrum of collective agreement interpretation cases, employment law issues, and strategic guidance on day to day workforce management.
