Michael maintains an advocacy practice primarily focused on responding to the regulatory and litigation needs of Alberta’s resource companies. Michael has acted for both large and mid-sized oil and gas companies, electrical generators, electrical distributors, national financial institutions, investors, and professionals in a host of disputes involving regulatory proceedings, commercial litigation, and commercial arbitrations.
Anthony's practice focuses on insurance, commercial litigation and occupational health and safety. Anthony endeavors to provide strategic and practical advice to resolve matters effectively and he has been successful in mediations, pre-trial conferences, judicial dispute resolutions, chambers and trials.
James is a trusted advisor, representing and advising employers and employees on a full range of labour (unionized workforce) and employment (non-union workforce) issues, including wrongful dismissal claims, complaints under the Labour Relations Code and the Canada Labour Code, grievance arbitrations, bargaining unit certification applications, human rights complaints, and contract drafting, interpretation and negotiation. When litigation is necessary, James is persuasive advocate for employers at all stages of the litigation process.
Sean is regularly engaged to provide legal advice on a variety of environmental management and engineering projects, and commercial transactions. Sean acts for a wide variety of clients including: landowners, large industry players, municipalities, government departments and administrative tribunals. In his commercial litigation practice, Sean handles a variety of matters including contaminated site litigation, shareholder disputes, construction matters such as builders’ liens, property damage claims and others.
Jody focuses on collaborating with her clients to come up with creative, proactive solutions, catered to their specific needs. Her experience representing both employees and employers in employment and human rights matters provides her with an understanding of the different perspectives, typical problems, and arguments of parties facing termination, employment contract disputes and wrongful dismissal claims, as well as human rights complaints. Jody also has a strong insurance defence practice and works with a number of national insurers on a wide variety of insurance matters including coverage opinions, Directors' and Officer's liability, professional liability, property damage, construction and personal injury claims. In her litigation practice, Jody represents corporations and individuals in contractual disputes and claims regarding negligence and breach of fiduciary duty.
Based out of our Yellowknife office, Michelle acts for a variety of clients on labour and employment matters, including municipalities, territorial governments, charities and not-for-profit organizations, small businesses and larger corporate clients.
