The Importance of Preparation During Uncertain Times16-Mar-20
By McLennan Ross Wills & Estates Team
McLennan Ross recommends that you review your personal and financial plans and ensure they are equipped to allow you to weather the uncertainty that lies ahead. A key aspect of this review should be to verify that you have a current Personal Directive and Enduring Power of Attorney in place. A Personal Directive allows an appointed individual to make personal decisions on your behalf in the event you become incapable. This would include medical decisions. An Enduring Power of Attorney gives authority to a named individual or entity over your financial affairs in the event you become incapable or are otherwise unable to attend to same, for example due to hospitalization. It is very important that you ensure you have these documents in place prior to a situation arising where they become needed. Our McLennan Ross Wills & Estates group stands ready to assist you on an expedited basis with these matters.
