E&MJ Canada's Territories Mining Report29-Nov-12
Engineering and Mining Journal, in conjunction with Global Business Reports (“GBR”), recently released “The Emerging North”, a report on the mining industries in Canada’s Northern Territories.
McLennan Ross lawyer, John Donihee, was interviewed for the report because of his extensive experience in land and water regulation and environmental impact assessment associated with northern mining and oil and gas developments. John’s practice is exclusively focused on resource management, aboriginal and regulatory issues in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. He has over thirty years of northern environmental management and legal experience and is a frequent speaker at conferences addressing northern resource issues.
John is part of a team at McLennan Ross that has extensive experience dealing with transactions within the mining industry. They have represented multinational mining companies in acquisitions of mining assets in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. They also advise aboriginal groups in negotiating and drafting exploration leases and commercial production agreements and provide advice relating to resource management and northern mining and oil and gas issues.
