Education Law Year in Review28-Feb-19
Our education industry lawyers will discuss the key court and arbitral decisions rendered in 2018 which affect school boards, school trustees, Superintendents, Secretary Treasurers, central office personnel, administrators, teachers, students, and parents.
The areas of law which affecting the K to 12 education system which will be addressed include:
- labour and employment (affecting teachers and other staff)
- human rights (involving staff, students and school boards)
- Charter and constitutional developments affecting education
- special education developments
- school board governance issues
- negligence cases (involving students, staff, and school boards)
Important Note: The Education Law Year in Review will be held on the same day and in the same location as the Labour and Employment Year in Review. The Education Law Year in Review will be held in the morning from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm and the Labour and Employment Year in Review will be held from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. If you wish to attend both sessions, a 50% discount will be provided to you for your Labour and Employment Year in Review registration. Those who register for both sessions will also be provided lunch between 12:00 and 1:00 pm.
