Climate change legislation is developing quickly at federal, state and provincial levels of government in both Canada and the United States. The Climate Registry, the leading organization for establishing reporting standards for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in North America, has developed a draft reporting protocol for the Oil and Gas Production Sector. This industry specific protocol will serve as a framework for the reporting and registration of GHG emissions by participants in the oil and gas industry. The Registry's draft Oil and Gas protocol is now available for public comment and we encourage you to click here to review the document and share your views. The Registry has also developed a General Reporting protocol, as well as a Reporting Protocol for the Electric Power Sector. These protocols are available for viewing at www.theclimateregistry.com Please contact Ron Kruhlak, Doug Evanchuk or Neil Mather for advice on reporting requirements or any other Climate Law matter. |
